Pork Roasting Time Calculator
How long to roast pork
As a guide, pork takes about 60 minutes per kilogram, plus around 30 minutes on top, cooked at 180°C (fan 160°C, gas mark 4). Enter your joint's weight above and the calculator does the arithmetic. For crackling, start 20 minutes at 220°C then drop to the temperature shown. Cook right through to 70°C plus.
Weight-based timings are a starting point, not a guarantee: oven calibration, whether the meat went in fridge-cold, and the shape of the joint all matter. The only reliable test is a meat thermometer in the thickest part, away from bone. Convert your oven dial with the oven temperature and gas mark converter.
Frequently asked questions
Is the pork roasting time converter free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up and nothing to install. It runs entirely in your browser.
Are these figures exact?
They are reliable guides based on standard UK values, but ingredients, ovens and appliances vary. For anything involving meat, always check it is cooked through with a thermometer rather than relying on time alone.
